3. Refrain from using technology in the locker room!
GENERAL
1. No Horseplay in the gymnasium or in the locker room area.
2. Please use the trash cans provided - not the lockers or the bleachers.
3. No food, drink, gum, or candy in the gym or locker room area.
4. Swearing and profanity are prohibited.

PROCEDURES
EVALUATION / GRADING
Assessments:
Dressing for PE does actually meet the standard: (S4.H5) Demonstrates that you are applying best practice in regard to safety and participation in physical activity, exercise, and dance. If you are not properly dressed, issues may occur! (e.g., hygiene, overheating, and/or fluke accidents, such as buttons / zippers catching in badminton nets).
Participation does meet the Standards too: (S4.H2 & S1.H1): Points can be earned for engaging in the activity properly, demonstrating competency, and/or refining skills in lifetime activities, games, activities, and dance that we do everyday during class.
Dress and Participation will be monitored daily using Class Dojo. Please see Login page for more!
Daily Points:
1. Dress: 4 Points can be earned for engaging in the activity properly, demonstrating competency, and/or refining skills in lifetime activities, games, activities, and dance that we do during class.
2. Participation during phases meeting standards (S4.H1, S1.H1) Points can be earned for engaging in the activity properly, demonstrating competency, and/or refining skills in lifetime activities, games, activities, and dance that we do during class.
Each day is worth 24 Total Points: Heart Rate Monitor Effort Grade is coming soon, but not developed yet. We will truly have data to back up the effort grade that a student receives.
Additional Assessments
Written Tests/Quizzes in Schoology
Physical Fitness Tests - Coupled with goal setting
GPA (game performance evaluations)
In-class Assessments (self-evaluation, peer evaluation, event tasks, logs, etc)
Health-related fitness test(s) (muscle strength, muscle endurance, flexibility, cardiorespiratory, and body composition or BMI)
Technology activities
Grading:
A 90 – 100% B 80-89% C 70-79% D 60-69% F below 60%
Marking period is an average of all possible points
Final Grade for Semester Course
Marking period average (40% x 2) 80%
Final Examination Grade 20%
Standards Based Assessment Scale: (EMPIs)
4 = Excels (Consistently meets the standards with ease)
3 = Meets (Met the Standard - but took practice and multiple attempts)
2 = Progressing (Working towards meeting the standard)
1 = Ineffective (Despite practice and continual effort progress is not apparent)
0 = No Data Available to measure / student was absent or could not be assessed
Alternative Grading Scale for Growth Mind Set & Improvement: (For students striving for a higher rating on the assessment scale, but may not have developed the coordination, or skill yet, may complete the following in order raise their grade 1 level for the specific assessment).
Provides detailed evidence of the following items in their student portfolio in Schoology

LOCKER ROOM
- Enter and exit through the hallway doors - no one should use the gym as a cut through.
- Once the late bell rings you will have 8 minutes to change into your PE Clothes and prepare your technology to be used safely. No use in locker room!
- Use the lock and locker assigned to you. Please no sharing for security reasons.
- Leaving class before the bell rings will result in an automatic “0” for the day.
- No glass containers should be brought into the locker room and keep sprays to a minimum.
GYMNASIUM AND EQUIPMENT
- No street shoes are to be worn on the gym floor during activity days.
- Use PE equipment as it was meant to be used.
- No climbing on backstops, fences, and basketball rims.
- Dunking is prohibited at all times. Please do not even attempt to grab the nets or rims. They bend and will break. We’ve lost two in the last 6 years and they are expensive.
- A monetary fine will be assessed if you damage any equipment while breaking a rule.
PROCEDURES
- An excused absence must be posted on E-school within three days of your absence in order for make-ups to occur. Please ask your teacher for the make-up form or plan to stay after school on Tuesday’s and Thursday’s.
- When entering the gym report directly to your squad remain their until instructions are given.
- When arriving late report to your teacher prior to beginning the activity.
- Please report all injuries to your teacher.
- Medical notes will be accepted by a doctor up to 5 days. Once you have recovered; the days missed must be made up. See your teacher for the proper form. Anyone missing more than 5 days will be placed in a study hall.
- At the end of class please return equipment to the proper designated area and report to your teacher. No additional activity after the whistle has blown or class has ended.
- Proper dress consists of T-shirts, shorts, sweats! No street clothes permitted. The school dress code also applies to PE class.
- ALL LOCKERS must be cleaned out prior to the start of FINAL EXAMS. The school will not be responsible for items left in those lockers.

- Identify steps to reach those goals
- Show evidence of steps taken to meet the goal (a combination of writing, voice, pictures, and video is expected)
- Re-test each opportunity provided (students may set-up their own testing session, video the test, and submit).
