Focusing is easy.
Right?
This is the real question we should be asking here. It seems like focusing is the easiest thing to do in the world but it’s really not. It’s hard to stay focused especially if there is something nagging you from the back of your head.
You could be focused on one thing and in the very next second you are distracted by a pretty butterfly that just flew past your window. Whether it’s focusing on writing a paper due in a few days or a reading a book, it’s hard to stay completely focused on one thing at a time.
It may not seem like it but focusing is so important in so many ways. Focusing is the root to all thinking, learning, reasoning, memory, problem solving, and decision making. You seem to focus when you’re not trying to, but when you want to you can’t. You have to be in the element of wanting to focus.
WHY?
When you want to focus, you normally try to get something done, or you want to be in deep thought about a certain topic. Yet the most simplest things can distract you when it comes to focusing on a topic, especially if you put yourself in an environment where you lose your train of thought.
Focusing is way more important than what people believe, it helps them make better choices and it keeps you motivated.
Your life is all about setting goals and achieving them. When we focus we allow ourselves to look within ourselves and find out what we really want to accomplish. We don’t want to be stuck in the same cycle of small goals, we could master within a few days. We need to set goals that will mold us and affect our lives in a good way. For example your career, or getting into a relationship. Yet those are some pretty big goals, and to achieve them you would need to be extremely focused in the long run. Even wanting to figure out certain goals, you need focus to find out what goals you want.
HOW?
What people fail to realize is that, it is actually very easy to focus when they put themselves in the correct place. The list goes on of the different ways that people can stay focused.
Focusing is unquestionably easier to do when you have a healthy mindset, but anyone can still do it. Even certain things around you have the ability to keep you focused and relaxed, for example colors! Blue reduces anxiety and helps clear someone’s thoughts therefore allowing them to focus better. Yellow is a bright color, so it gives you a brighter outlook on things. If you feel trapped add some green into your line of sight, and so many other colors can help you as well.
Music is an amazing way to stay focused, whether it is slow jazz or smooth blues music can go a long way when trying to get work done.
Breathing is probably going to be your best solution to being relaxed and focused. When you allow yourself to breath it opens your eyes to new possibilities, when you go into your happy place there is nothing that can stop you.
Focusing is the key to all success, you just need to find it.
