EVALUATION / GRADING
EVALUATION PROCESS IS CHANGING AS OF 8/25/19! Due to an amazing book: Hacking Assessment, we will incorporate a semi-gradeless classroom. STUDENTS WILL STILL EARN GRADES, but to do so they will collect digital evidence of how they met the standards and have multiple attempts to improve their grades. Students will store that evidence in their portfolio. Short conferences and many self-assessment will take place to keep students striving for mastery! #EdCampPEClass
Daily Points:
1. Dress: 4 Points (S4.H5) Demonstrates that you are applying best practice in regard to safety and participation in physical activity, exercise, and dance. If you are not properly dressed issues may occur! (e.g., hygiene, overheating, and /or fluke accidents, such as buttons / zippers catching in badminton nets). Note: If you do not dress, you are still expected to complete the assessments for the day, but should be mindful of any safety issues.
2. Participation does meet the standards too! (S4.H1, S1.H1) Points can be earned for engaging in the activity properly, demonstrating competency, and/or refining skills in lifetime activities, games, activities, and dance that we do during class. Each segment below counts towards daily points. Rubric or standards based scale applies to these portions of class.
Each day is worth 20 Total Points: Heart Rate Monitor effort grade is coming soon & based on meeting the heart rate goal for the day. An additional 10 points will be added to the daily grades based on the data collected. We will truly have data to back up the effort grade that a student receives.
